The Udawalawe National Park Morning Safari is an excellent way to experience Sri Lanka’s wildlife, especially its famous wild Asian elephants. The safari usually begins around 6:00 AM and lasts approximately 3–4 hours. The early morning offers cooler weather, softer light, and excellent wildlife-viewing opportunities. Elephants can often be seen feeding, walking across grasslands, or gathering near water, while many bird species are active. Visitors meet their 4×4 safari jeep and experienced driver/guide near the entrance. During the safari, explore grasslands, dry-zone forests, scrublands, and areas around the Udawalawe Reservoir, offering excellent opportunities to observe elephants and other wildlife.
